Who we are

What we collect, and when

We only collect what you type into one of our forms. Depending on the form, that can include your first name, your partner's name, your last name, your email address, your phone number, your wedding date, your venue or location, the collection you are considering, and anything you write in a message box.

When you book a consultation we also record the date and time you chose. When you subscribe to the journal we record only your email address. We do not buy lists, and we do not collect anything about you when you simply read the site.

What we do with it

We use your details to reply to you, to prepare a quote, to plan and film your day, and to deliver your film. If you are a client, we keep what we need to run the project properly, including your venue, your timeline and your delivery preferences.

We never sell your information, and we never share it for anyone else's marketing.

Email, and your consent

We send studio email only to people who asked for it or who are working with us. Where consent is required under Canada's anti spam legislation, we ask for it plainly and record it, and you can withdraw it at any time.

Every marketing email carries an unsubscribe link, and supports one click unsubscribe in the mail apps that offer it. Unsubscribing takes effect immediately and we keep a suppression record so you are not contacted again by mistake.

So we can tell which notes are actually useful, our emails record when a message is opened and when a link in it is clicked. This is tied to your email address. If you would rather we did not, tell us and we will turn it off for you.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand which pages people find helpful. It sets cookies and reports in aggregate. It is not used to identify you personally, and we do not connect it to your enquiry. Most browsers let you block these cookies, and the site works normally if you do.

Payments

Payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and are never seen, handled or stored by us. We keep a record of what was paid, when, and against which invoice, because we need that for our books.

Who else touches your information

A small number of service providers hold data on our behalf so the studio can operate: Vercel hosts the website, Neon hosts the database, Google delivers our email, and Stripe processes payments. Each is bound by its own agreement with us and may only act on our instructions.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become projects are kept while they are still live and are removed once they clearly are not. Client records are kept for as long as we are working together, and afterwards for as long as we need them for tax, accounting and warranty of the delivered work.

Your films are yours. We keep our own copies as an archive so we can replace a lost delivery, and you can ask us to remove them.

Your rights

Under Canadian privacy law you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, and withdraw a consent you gave earlier. Write to momentra.cinematics@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days, usually much sooner.

If you are not satisfied with how we handled your request, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Children

The site is meant for adults arranging a wedding or a business film. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes affecting how we use your information will be sent to anyone on our list before they take effect.
